Glenys left us December 6, 2023. Her brother, Bob Boyd, wrote her obituary, as follows:

It is with a heavy heart that we share that Glenys (Boyd) Holmberg passed away on December 6, 2023, at the age of 72. After a long battle with many illnesses and ailments she is finally at peace. She leaves behind her 3 adoring children (Jennifer, Douglas, and Alexandria), her 7 loving grandchildren – who called her “Grammie” (Samuel, Dylan, Annabel, Ryan, Sarah, Beto, and Rafael) her brothers (Robert, Roger and Mu), sisters (Lynda and Kristina) step-mom Linda, and her best friend Sue, as well as countless nieces, nephews and cousins.

Born mid summer (July 16, 1951), she grew up with her best friends and brothers Robert and Roger Boyd. Her childhood was spent with family, and she grew up with a love for camping and the beach. She met her future husband, fellow Westmoor High School grad (class of 1969) Douglas Holmberg when she was still in high school, and they married in 1972.

The next chapter of her life was spent on the island of Oahu where her family grew and many memories were made. Moving back to the mainland is when her third and final daughter was born. Shortly after, she divorced her husband and began her studies in early childhood education.
She devoted her life’s work to countless kids as a preschool educator and then director of a wonderful school in Sacramento where she was able to work for many years alongside her mother (and for a short while with her oldest daughter as well).

Glenys was a gifted crafter with impeccable penmanship and the perfect mashed potatoes recipe. Her jeans were always ironed, and her blond hair was a trademark look her entire life. She was stubborn, and determined and she loved deeply. She will be missed more than she could ever know.

Nick Nicholas – May her memory be eternal.
Rose Pollard Schlendering – So sorry for those she left behind. Glenys will be missed. RIP.
David Bauer – Our deepest condolences.
Debbie (Bingaman) Moe – I remember Glenys as a kind, hardworking, and sweet person. My deepest sympathy to her family.
