Westmoor High School Class of 1969

This event started out as an idea of a simple luncheon with just a few people. And then it took on a life of its own and ended up with 56 classmates and guests. See the list below. It was a fun, lively time. We crowded into the private area of Boulevard Cafe (remembered and loved in the 60’s as the Daly City Lyon’s restaurant), and a tight squeeze it was. But it didn’t matter because we could hardly contain ourselves from giddily going table-to-table and seat-to-seat. The chatter stopped only for a few moments when we celebrated the theme of the day, which was the Beatles’ song, “When I’m 64.” Lyrics were provided in a memento at each place setting, and sure enough we sang it and followed it with “Happy Birthday” because indeed it was Lori Corbett (Kramer)’s 64th birthday this very day! What a fitting event to celebrate all of us getting to the sweet age of 64.

Next up: Our 50th is just around the corner so get ready for a big celebration in 2019!

The pictures of each of us that night holding our high-school senior pics in a frame was creatively taken and masterminded by Gus Cubillo and his wife Leslie. And Joan Riba scanned our senior portraits for Gus to do some Photoshop magic so we could all look sensational. Many, many thanks to the Cubillo-Riba team.

Details:
– Saturday, July 11, 2015
– 4:30 p.m. – 7:30. Socializing continued at Val’s in Daly City for some.
– Boulevard Cafe, 2 Poncetta Dr., (off of John Daly Blvd.), Daly City (old Lyon’s)
– $30/pp, included coffee, tea, and soft drinks and tax & tip. Pay at door. Not included: dessert or alcoholic beverages.
– Entrees: Salmon, chicken, steak, or vegetarian pasta.
– Steve Minkin led a walk around Lake Merced before the dinner.
