D’ACQUISTO, Gaye Laurel Passed away on July 11, 2012 in peace and in the presence of her family. A longtime Glen Ellen resident, Gaye was born on August 24, 1951 in Lancaster, CA to Faye and Bob Abbey and she was raised in Daly City. Gaye was known for her creative flair and graduated with a degree in fashion design. She will forever be remembered as a glamorous woman with a keen sense of style. They say big things come in small packages and that was definitely Gaye, small in stature but so very big in all the ways that count. Her generosity knew no limits and if you needed something she would give it to you straight from the heart, expecting nothing in return. Her passions in life were simple and included an immeasurable love for her family and friends, walking her dogs and caring for her beautiful home and garden in Glen Ellen where she resided for 34 years. Gaye is survived by her husband and sweetheart of 45 years, Gary D’Acquisto; daughters Brooke (D’Acquisto) Agresti and Alexa D’Acquisto; son-in-law Aric Agresti; granddaughter Giuliana Agresti; sister Caye Rowe and brother Shay Abbey. Gaye also leaves behind several close relatives including nieces and nephews and a host of dear friends, all of whom played a very important role in her life. Those who were touched by Gaye understood that the quality of existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile, kind heart and extravagant spirit brought great joy to many. A Celebration of Life took place at Cornerstone Sonoma on Thursday, August 9 at 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers her family asked for a donation to Canine Companions for Independence in honor of Gaye’s memory. Donations can be sent to: Canine Companions for Independence P.O. Box 446 Santa Rosa, CA 95402
